About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can i get a 72 hrs free transit if traveling over a weekend to Beijing from Canada, I will use Canadian passport, but my departure arrival airport is the same as my arrival, that is I'm not in transit anywhere else

Luis, because you will fly back to Canada after you stay for 3 days in Beijing, you don’t qualify for the 72 hour free transit in Beijing.
In order to be eligible for the 72 hour free transit, you are advised to transit in HK before you fly back to Canada. In this case, your travel route will be like this: Canada –Beijing- Hong Kong-Canada, and you can enjoy the free transit in Beijing.
