business visa to z type

Question

I am working for a foreign company and assign in PRC currently I hold a one year multiple entry business M type 30 days per entry. How would I be able to change it to a Z type so that I would be able to stay longer than 30 days. It is costly to exit and also inconvenienet everytime the 30th day comes more especially if I am schedule far from the nearest exit point or tied up with shipment date and exit day and worst could be I forgot the 30th day.

Kim, if the company in PRC is capable of getting the alien employment permit and invitation letter of duly authorized unit for you, then it’s possible for you to convert the M type to work Z type. You should first prepare all the documents including your passport, the application form, a half-length color photo, valid registration form of temporary residence, the alien employment permit and invitation letter of duly authorized unit. Afterwards, submit the application to the exit and entry administration of the local PSB to change M type to Z type.
