As I know, there is only upper limit for taking cash but no minimum amount when exiting CN. You'd better to contact the customs to get a certain reply.

Carrie thanks for your help, I have not been able to contact a human in China that speaks English or answer phone at guangdong embassy in over 45 days nor can I find a single fact in numerous websites. I have called many customs offices in USA and China including guangdong airport 7 times and the flight tower seems nobody knows nothing, unbelievable. Every body I spoke with to date has only their opinion usually pointing to a scam without an iota of proof. I don't want to assume this " lady" is a scammer if indeed she is a good lady. I'm calling guangdong embassy again for hard to find facts thanks for your help
