About:China Customs Declaration

What is the declaration tax based on?

For example the total amount of gifts exceeded the 2,000 yuan limit. Now lets say I brought 5 brand name sunglasses to China, each cost different in prices, now do I pay a fixed amount for each or do I pay the amount based on the price that I brought it for?

According to the rules, the tax is based on the extra price.
