Time remaining on passport for "L" visa

Hello, My wife and I are going to Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing. We depart the USA on 7 September 2016. Our passports expire on March 2017. If we apply for our tourist L types in August 2016, does that leave sufficient time on our passports before expiration? (I calculate August 2016 to March 2017 as 7 months.) I think there is enough time remaining before our passports expire but I want to be certain. Thank you, Antonio Lopez

Yes, Antonio, there is enough time remaining. You just need to make sure that the remaining vailidity of your passports is longer than six months.
