About:China Student Visa

Hello, I have read the required documents needed to apply for the X2 student visa to China.

But surprisingly, bank or financial statements isn't listed amongst. Does this mean it's not required? If yes, how does the China embassy know one's ability to be able to finance one's studies.

Yes, according to what I know, the bank statement is not listed as one of the applition documents for X2 type applicants. If the consular officer does not mention it, you don't need to submit the bank statement. As X2 type is only for short-term study, you don't have to have a lot of money. As long as you can pay the tuition and round-trip tickets, it will be ok.

Thank you Grace for your response. I actually meant the X1 type. The one with studies of longer than 180 days. Please kindly revert.

If you are a self-sponsored student in China, you may need the bank statement. If you have got a scholarship, you may not need it.
