About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

My family and I will be travelling on the trans Siberian through Russia, Mongolia

My family and I will be travelling on the trans Siberian through Russia, Mongolia and finally China. We will stay less than 2 weeks in China before taking the ferry to South Korea. Do I need to provide my train ticket before hand (we wanted to purchase it in Mongolia) and what about the exit ferry? The ferry site said to go to the ticket office in Qingdao to buy the ticket. Do I need to provide proof of onward travel as we will not have this.

Your help would be appreciated.

Hi, Dear! You had better book the train ticket when you are at your country if possible. If you can't get it in your country, you have to options. One is to apply for it when you are in Russia. The other is to get an invitation letter from the ferry company and ask for a detailed travel itinerary. In this case, you may not need to show the train ticket and ferry ticket.

Does that mean I do not need to provide the train ticket when applying for the Chinese Visa? And will the invitation letter from the ferry company be enough as proof of onward travel?

If you can get an invitation letter from the ferry company, you may not need to provide the train ticket, but this is just a possibility. Besides, you should provide the flight ticket from Czech to Russia. The letter from the ferry company can act as a proof of your onward travel. You had better contact the embassy for confirmation.
