About:Bifeng Gorge Panda Base

Is it possible or necessary to buy tickets online to the Chengdu Bifeng Gorge Base?

If so, how can I do this please?

You can book the tickets on the official website. But it doesn't have English version. Thus it's also ok for you to purchase them when you arriving at the spot. Don't worry. It's suggested to arrive there early in the morning in order to avoid long queue.
