flight to guangzhou then ferry to hong kong

Hi, I would like to know if I qualify for the 72 hour free transit. I will arrive into Guangzhou airport on the 8th of July in the morning from the USA, then want to take the ferry to Hong Kong airport on the 10th of July in the evening to catch a flight to Europe. Would I qualify for the 72 hour free transit if I leave Guangzhou by ferry?

Sam, if so, I’m afraid you don’t qualify for the 72 hour free transit because it is mainly applicable to those traveling by flight, but you will take ferry to Hong Kong after staying in Guangzhou for 3 days. You need to apply for a transit G type or tourist L type beforehand.
