submit my application for a tourist L visa whilst in Canada

Hello
I am a UK Citizen who will be travelling in Canada. Is it possible for me to submit my application for an L type whilst in Canada so I can go straight to China from there without returning to the Uk?
Do i need to process my documents in the country from which I have citizenship or can I do it in any Chinese consulate?

Bedouin, you can apply for it from there as long as you have valid entry permit for Canada. You don’t have to apply for it in your home country.
