need invitation letter or not?

Hi, im pakistani citizen living and working in Malaysia. Im married to a malaysian and my kids are also malaysian citizens. My appointment date is set for this coming 24th june 2016. I have booked return flight tickets for me and my family with hotel accomodation. I have also got the verification of employment letter from my company. As per my knowledge, if i have the return tickets and hotel booking then i do not need an invitation letter. we are travelling to shenzhen for 4 days for the purpose of tourism. The documents i have are,: passports, visa application forms, marriage certificate , malaysian spouse visa with work endorsement, verification of employment letter which states my salary, date of join and position, round trip air tickets booking fully paid, hotel accomodation booking, birth certificates for my kids. Just want to confirm if i still need an invitation letter? your reply would be much appreciated. Ive been searching and they say that as far as you have a confirmed return air ticket and hotel accomodation then no need for invitation letter. Also i have my salary payslips for the past 6 months etc. please advice. thank you
