By Train: Take metro line 4 from Zoo Station to Beigongmen Station, Exit D. Enter the palace from the north gate. The trip takes about 20 miniutes, and the fare is CNY 4.

By boat: Take a boat from the entrance of the zoo. The fare is CNY 40 per person for a single ride. The boats are available from 10:00 to 16:00 at hourly intervals.

To Dongsi:Take metro line 4 from Beigongmen to Ping'anli Station. Then, change to metro line 6 to Dongsi. The trip takes about 40 minutes, and the fare totals CNY 5. ;)

To the east gate, you may leave from Exit C, Beigongmen Station, Metro Line 4. Walk east for about 450 yards, and turn right. Walk south for about 400 yards, and turn right. Walk west for about 100 yards to it.

You can find official tour guides in blue uniforms at all the entrances. The fare vary from CNY 100 to CNY 200. Or you can ask help for TravelChinaGuide. Maybe they can provide such tour for you. They have reliable tour guides. If interested, their contact information is traveltravelchinaguide.com.
