About:China Bank Acount, Credit Card, Traveler's Cheque

I'm travelling from Australia to China in October.

And I have been speaking with my friend who is Chinese about Travel Money Cards. There is a reloadable money card that uses MasterCard, while another option is a Reloadable Union Pay card from our Post Office. We are just trying to work out if MasterCard or Union Pay is the better option?
Is Union Pay more widely accepted than MasterCard?

Thanks,
Ellen.

For your convenience, you are recommended to get a Union Pay card, for this kind of card is widely used in PRC. Nearly all the ATMs provide service for Union Pay card.
