According to the policy of 72 hours visa free transit, travelers should hold confirmed ticket to the thid country or region when apply for the permit and the flight can only stop in one Chinese city. If you fly to Beijing and then to Xian and Shanghai, you can not enjoy the policy. However, if you fly to one of the above Chinese cities and then go to a thrid country, you can use the transit visa.0
