I would like to do the Li River cruise but prefer doing it on a bamboo raft..

If you want to take bamboo rafting on Li River, you can go to Yangdi and rafting down to Xingping Town, where you can take bus to Yangshuo. Or you can experience it in Yulong RIver in Yangshuo.
