Hi Samuel,Do you think it could be possibe to daytrip from Xian?Something like getting a fast train early in the morning and then come back to Xian in the evening, woul it leave me enough time to see the mountain (by cable car, it will be me and my 10 years old son...)Thank you very much!

Yes, one day is doable if you take cable car up and down the mountain. But you should take an early morning bus from the South Square of Xian railway station to Huashan. If you miss the last bus at 17:00, you can also take the high speed train back to Xian.
