About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Multiple Stops in China within 72 hours

I am a U..S citizen flying to Thailand. I have a layover in Guangzhou for 23 hours and then another layover in Changsha for 19 hours. Can I use the 72 hour free transit for both places or do I need to get two 24 hour visas?

Jon, considering your situation, you cannot use either the 72 hour free transit or the 24 hour direct transit. You need to apply for a transit G type or tourist L type for your stopover in PRC.
