Hong Kong Visa Run

Hello, I'm from the USA and working in China on the z type and preparing a trip to Hong Kong to renew it with a new school/agency. The HR agent told me that I don't need a health check report before going to Hong Kong, but the Hong Kong Chinese consulate website and your visa section that you do need a health check before approval. Which is true? And, when do you take the medical healthcheck if it's required?

If you want to change your job to a new school/agency, maybe you can just renew your work Z type and residence permit within mainland PRC. In this way, you don’t need to go to HK.
Of course, if you want to do it in HK, the health check is not needed. After you get a new work Z type and enter PRC to apply for the new residence permit, you need to provide a health check.
