6 month alien card validity!

I will travel to China on 15 August for conference.

My alien card will expire on 30 September. Do I need to renew my alien card registration? I read somewhere that you must have six month validity and from another source, I read I don't need (effective from January 2014). I am not sure which is one is true.

TIA

Ajmal, if you don't go back to Korea after visiting China, you don't need to renew your alien card. I also heard about the news that six-month remaining validity of ARC card is not required any more since January 2014.
