Visiting Chengdu for five days

Hello, I'm a us citizen and my spouse is a green card holder. We are planning a trip to Honkong for two weeks and while we are there want to visit chengdu for 4-5 days.
Do we still need to get visa?

Jen, you need to get an entry permit to visit Chengdu because you will go there for 4 – 5 days. And your entry to Chengdu is not a transit. The 72 hour free transit is not applicable to your situation. You’d better apply for a tourist L type to Chengdu in advance.
