Pick up at airport

I am going by rail from Beijing to Shanghai. Is it possible to collect the tickets in Beijing Airport on the day I arrive to Beijing? I arrive the 2nd of August and will go to Shanghai the 10th of August.
I am a little confused about the 24 hour pick up period, how is it possible when not in China at the moment?
