Gary, Malaysian passport holders cannot enjoy the 72 hour free transit. But if he/she stops over in Beijing for less than 24 hours, no entry permit is needed. However, if it’s more than 24 hours, a transit G type or tourist L type is needed.According to your flight itinerary, your layover time is more than 24 hours, so you should apply for a transit G type or tourist L type beforehand.
