Is calcium as a gift offensive?

A child in my class is from China and his mother brought me a bottle of calcium supplements to celebrate Christmas and the end of the school year. Is this a custom? I don't want to be offended like I seem unhealthy, but I also don't want to be disrespectful.

Kathy, his mother sent you calcium supplements out of the respect. In CN, health is the most important thing. People often send nourishment to show their care the prestigious and seniors.
