About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Melbourne - Beijing- London- Oslo

Can the 72 hour visa be used for the above route even if London (UK) being a Third country is a 2-3 hour layover prior to flying to Norway (Oslo) which doesn't appear to be one of the free countries ??

Rick, if your travel route is like that, you can enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Beijing. Just relax.

It seems you misunderstood the TWOV a little bit.

Just Norway passport holders can´t enjoy the TWOV policy.

You are fine with your route.
