Foreign Expert Certificate renewal

Hi,

I finish my current job at the end of this month and start a new one in September. I know my current employer needs to cancel my current FEC before my new employer can get a new one for me. I am also moving to a new city and province so I know I will have to go there to get the new residence permit. I can't go for another few weeks though so I'd like to know if my current RP will be valid until then even if my FEC is cancelled now?

TIA

Lucy, if your current RP is not cancelled and it is still valid, you can use it and stay in PRC to deal with the relevant procedures of the new job.
But if it is cancelled, too, you should apply for a tourist L type after your work Z type expires, and then use the L type to stay in PRC and handle the relevant things.

Sorry, my question is: Will my residence permit automatically be cancelled if my FEC is cancelled a month before it expires?

Lucy, no, your residence permit will not be automatically cancelled if your FEC is cancelled.
