Hi, half day is enough to visit Leshan Giant Buddha. You can take bus 3 to the site, where you can take the boat trip to see the Buddha. It takes around 35 minutes from the Buddha site to the Leshan Railway station. The traffic during the holiday time will be very bad, so taxi may not be the best choice.

thanks olivia for your answer
but wouldn't it take the same time for taxi or bus to get there on holiday traffic? or do buses have their own lanes?
we are 4 so price wise its a little better, maybe.

You have 4 persons, so I suggest you take taxi, which is convenient and fast. During the holiday, the bus will be very crowded.
