About:

Can we use 144hr visa to stay in Shanghai for 2 days before a cruise to Japan.

Hi we are flying from the UK to Shanghai in October and staying in a hotel for 2days before we board a cruise to Japan. We then fly home from Tokoyo. Will the 144hr visa free transit cover our stay in Shanghai? And do we have to let the airline know we are going to use this 144hr visa?

Hi Marilyn, you are covered by the 144 hour visa free transit. You should let the airline know you are going to use this policy, otherwise they may not allow you to board onto the plane becuse you don't have a valid visa to China.
