About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Fly Canada to Shanghai, stay less than 72 hrs, leaving Shanghai on a cruise ship??

Quote from the rules... "where they can enter or leave from any port in Shanghai"

Does it mean that I can fly from Canada to Shanghai airport, then leave Shanghai on a cruise ship? Will the 72 hours rule work for me?

Frank, the 72 hour free transit is only applicable to those traveling by flight.
But if you fly to Shanghai for less than 144 hours, and then leave to a third country or region instead of Canada by a cruise ship, you can use the 144 hour free transit. In this way, no entry permit is needed either.
