Attestation of civil documents marriage certificate and birth certificate

This is Dinesh residing in Kunming, China for work purpose since 4 years and have a valid residence permit and working permit. Now my family has come to PRC on S2 visa for 90 days and they want to reside in PRC with me. when we went to apply fro their residence permit Exit and entry bureau of Kunming asked us to get the Marriage and Birth certificate attested by Chinese Embassy in India. Chinese Embassy in India need original passport to verify for attestation of documents (I can send documents by courier bit can not send the original passport by courier). How to deal with this situation ? Do my family need to go back to India to get this done / is there any other solution ? please guide.
