About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Toronto to Shanghai to Qingdao to Incheon

I have to wait in Shanghai for 3 hours and 20 hours in Qingdao. So if I can't use the 72 or 114 hour policy, do I have to stay within the airport during all those times?

If your total time in China is not longer as 24h, you can use the free transit.
You can asked for a temporary entry permit to leave the airports.

But if you stay longer as 24h, you need to apply for a transit G type or tourist L type before.
