Applying for a Chinese Tourist visa from abroad?

I am a British citizen currently living in India on a tourist entry permit. I wish to travel to PRC for about a month for tourist purposes. What is the process for applying for a Chinese tourism L type as a British citizen abroad?

Anna, the first step is to prepare the relevant materials for tourist L type including the application form, your passport and its copy, a passport-sized color photo, your entry permit to India, and proof of transportation and accommodation arrangement.
The next step is to submit all the documents to the CVASC to apply for it.
