About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

HKG to HKT to PEK, 72 hour policy

I will be landing in Hong Kong on June 2nd leaving on June 5th to Thailand and returning to Beijing on June 9th leaving for The US on June 12th does the 72hrs free transit apply for my trip?

You will meet 72-hours free transit requirement if you arrive and depart from same airport, and your next flight must not have stopover in another chinese city, for example, the departing route of Beijing stopover shanghai then USA will not meet the requirement. One more note, If your flight carrier is Air China or other chinese carriers, you should be careful review the flight detail, they often offer these kind of routes, such as USA to Shanghai to Beijing or Beijing to Shanghai to USA
