I would like to purchase the 6 or 7 a.m rail ticket (K966 or T8326) departing for Zhangjiajie. Will the ticket counters still be open after midnight? Any idea what time the counters open and close?

Yes. There are still schedule available around midnight 1am to 4am. There should be at least one or two counters available at that time.

Both of them are frequently used way for the transfer between, usually without weather problem, they would not delay.
