About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Stop over in Guangzhou prior to going to Beijing (72 hour visa free transit)

Hi all,

I am British passport holder. I am planning on travelling from Australia to Beijing. The flight has a stop-over in Guangzhou (but I am not getting out of the airport), and then I fly onwards to Beijing. In Beijing I intend to use the 72 hour free transit to quickly explore the city. Does the fact that my flight stops at Guangzhou (although I will not leave the airport, but may have to switch planes) affect my eligibility for the 72 hour free transit at Beijing?

Many thanks

If you wanna use the 72h transit you can´t have 2 stops within China.
It doesn´t matter if you leave the airport or not.
So this route doesn´t work for you unfortunately.
If your flight goes straight to Beijing from Australia (without a stop in another chinese city) then it´s fine.
