About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

hello......144 hours transit visa waiver? from Chris In Stoke on Trent UK

hello.......I am flying into Shanghai on October 4 and staying just 2 nights in a hotel before catching a cruise ship destined for Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore....
Is it possible to use the 144 hour transit or 72 hour transit visa waiver.....
