About:Hong Kong Visa Application

exchange students summer program ( university of HK), She holds a Chinese passport

My daughter will attend an exchange student program ( University of HK), She is a permenent resident of U. S., holds a Chinese passport, what is the process she should go through? Does she need a HK Entry permit ahead of time? if yes, how long does it take to get it from New England area in US?

She needs to apply for it ahead of time. The first step is to prepare the required documents including passport and copy of the data page, the application form, a passport-style photo, her permanent residence permit in HK, and the admission letter from HK university, proof of the financial standing, and other relevant materials the consular officers consider necessary. After that, submit the application to the consulate general of PRC to apply for it. If the consulate deals with the application itself, it usually takes 4 working days. But if the application is transferred to HK immigration department, 4 to 6 weeks may be needed.
