About:Beijing Capital Airport Shuttle Bus

Can you pay cash on the Beijing Airport Shuttle Bus?

Or do you have to purchase the ticket in advance?
I am staying at Friendship Hotel and I was wondering if I could take Airport Shuttle No. 4. But I'd rather take a cab if I need to go out and purchase a ticket somewhere.

Well, you don't need to purchase the tickets in advance.
Just buy the ticket from Gate 7, T1; Gate 11, T2; Gate 7 or 9, T3. And yes, you need to pay in cash.

You can take shuttle bus line 4 to the hotel directly. The fare is CNY 24 per person. If by taxi, the cost may be CNY 100-120 in the day time.

Oh, I meant from the hotel to the airport. Where do I buy the ticket?

You can buy the tickets at Friendship Hotel. The hotel staff will show you where the shuttle bus ticket counter is. Don't worry. :)
