About:Hong Kong Visa Policy

US citizen to Beijing and Hong Kong

If I fly to Beijing from US and want to fly to Hong Kong to visit and fly back to Beijing, do I need a visa?

Nancy, if you fly from the US to Beijing, and then fly to HK within 72 hours (no layover in other cities), you can enjoy the 72h free transit in Beijing. For the HK travel, no entry permit is required as long as the travel lasts for less than 90 days. On your way from HK to Beijing, it's possible that you can enjoy the 72h free transit again if you will fly to a third country/region.
