About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

does it apply if the transit is from/to the same airport?

I intend on flying from Bangkok on a Thu night and return to Bangkok on Sunday evening so under the 72H but unsure it applies as same source and destination in the transit. Could anyone advice on this? Thanks
Kian

Kian, if you are Thailand passport holder, you cannot enjoy the 72 hour free transit.
And the flight is not eligible for the 72 hour free transit either because after stopping in a Chinese city, it flies back to Bangkok, but in principle, it should fly to a third country or region.
