About:China Visa on Arrival

Voa in china is a joke

When you go to china and apply voa you are at the mercy of the corrupt visa agents working in China. Some of the agents reject your documents even you have prepared every document according to regulations. Today I arrived at Baiyun airport in guangzhou, and the officer did not even let me fill in the form. He just handed me a small piece of paper with an office in hong kong, and then mumbled to his coworkers he was going to get his dinner in chinese. Clearly he think I didnt understand Chinese.

It just shed another light on this country and how corrupt it still is!

Thomas, I feel sorry for what you went through. But based on what I know, Guangzhou airport VOA is only issued to those who need to enter PRC under emergency circumstances. So if you don’t enter under emergency circumstances, you cannot get VOA there.
If you transit in Guangzhou Baiyun airport for less than 72 hours, you can apply for the 72 hour free transit or 24 hour direct transit.
