Is it hot in the month of august to visit Guilin?

This is my home town and I can say that while the temperature may not appear high in August, at around 90 max, the humidity makes it extremely uncomfortable, without ac you will be sweating just by sitting outside and it feels somewhat like a oven/sauna.
