Question

I live in Phuket and there is no Chinese Consulate here.  If I fly to Bangkok and apply for my visa, how soon can I enter PRC after receiving the entry permit?  I cannot afford (time or money) to fly to BKK and wait for 4 days and fly back to Phuket for two weeks before flying to PRC. Can I apply for it and leave the day after I get it?

Hi there! It can be used for entry into PRC from the date of issue, so you can leave the day after you get it. You don’t need to wait for two weeks, or fly back to Phuket.
