About:China Customs Declaration

I‘m confused about the 5000$ or 20.000 RMB, because there is a difference on nearly 10.000 RMB. ?!

I am going to China for 16 days as a part of a larger trip, I will bring around 8000 RMB, but also around 2000$ in orther currency (yen and won) can I do that? Because together it is around 3100$ so under the 5000$ limit but it is around 21.000 RMB put together so over the 20.000 RMB currency limit.

So I am confused about how I should understand it.

You are allowed to take RMB8,000 as well as USD2,000. According to the rules, one can take RMB20,000 and foreign currency with a value of USD5,000 maximumly at the same time to enter the customs.

Thank you it was the "or" that confused me, because then it is either one or another, but maybe you should write "and" instead it makes more sence then ^^
