I am flying from HK to Shanghai with a 48 hour layover before flying on to LAIs the 72 hour visa free transit applicalble in this case?I am a UK and Israel national.

If you travel with UK passport, you can enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Shanghai. However, if you travel with Israel passport, you need to apply for a tourist L type or transit G type beforehand.
