About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Hi there, this thread had been greatly informative thankyou! I have a question.

I am currently studying in SH and during the winter time I will go down south to xiamen, for the next 6 months I want to live and explore this area, I hear a very simple way to stay for six months is to go to Taiwan for a night every 3 months to renew a tourist visa, I have many contacts in China so an invitation letter is not an issue.

If you could inform me if this is a viable option that would be great! After the 6 month break I will continue my studies again in SH :) using a student X type.

Hi Henry, so you need to get double-entry tourist L type valid for six months? You can't get it while you are in mainland China, but it's possible to apply for it in Macau or Hong Kong. If your application is approved, your plan will be viable. But you should know that it's hard to get a 3-month stay duration after each entry. If you can't get that, you can try to apply for a six-month multiple-entry L type with a stay duration of one or two months.
