can i obtain a work visa after i have arrived in china on a tourist L type.

is it possible to take up employment after arriving on a tourist L type

Alan, you can probably change your tourist L type to a work Z type afering entering PRC, but it's not that easy nowadays and it depends on where you do the application. In some cities, you can't do so.
