About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Renewing temporary residence permit with new passport

I have a new passport and I would like to renew my temporary (student) residence permit. Along with usual paperwork (photo, application, letter from the university, new passport) do I need to submit anything else to the Entry-Exit Bureau by the application? Do I need to apply with both my old visa-holding passport and the new, valid passport?

Eszter, in addition to the paperwork you listed, you may also need to submit your old passport and a registration form of your temporary residence. It's possible that your old passport bearing the residence permit will be required during the renewal process, so you had better take it as well.
