How to know that your application has been approved.

Dear,

Today I submitted my application for Hongkong & Macau travelling entry visa at China Embassy in KL - Malaysia. After I payed the fee around RM180, they told me that my application will have to been sending to HKG and I need to wait for 4 - 6 weeks for them to call me. So may I know that they already approved my application, is that meaning I already get approval?
