About:China Tourist Visa

Film Crew to film a U.S. TV (non-news) show in Beijing. Tourist, business (F) or J visa?

The film crew is approximately 8 people and we will be shipping professional film gear from the U.S. on a carnet, driving for 2 days to Mongolia and filming while we travel. Will a tourist L type suffice for the crew or do we need a business M type if we are traveling with carnet?
