You may go for Yongding or Nanjing [Fujian]. If for Yongding county, you may go from Shenzhen to Guangzhou or Longyan and then to Yongding by rail. You can go for the visiting area by bus then. If for Nanjing, there is direct rail from Shenzhen, then you can take taxi etc or bus to the counter first and then bus to Tulou.

But I think Shenzhen-Xiamen-Yondding will be better. You could try.
